According to the Office of Civil Rights, a member of AccessMyRecords.com is not defined as a "Covered Entity" and will not be bound by HIPPA guidelines for privacy compliance. When becoming a member, everyone must accept the Terms and Conditions stated on the first page of the simple application form in the Join Now section of the Website. These terms authorize an employee or agent AccessMyRecords.com to release a member's medical records, legal wishes and other confidential information from only the Emergency Medical Records file. No other personal information would be released from the member's password protected account.

The Office of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has reviewed the services that AccessMyRecords.com provides and has concluded this service falls under General & Administrative (G&A) cost of healthcare reimbursed managed care plans.
